Actresses Samantha ‘Gonyeti‘ Kureya and Sharon ‘Maggie‘ Chideu, known for their online ‘Gonyeti & Maggie‘ comedy skits – have landed themselves in some trouble as the women were arrested and fined for illegally wearing police uniforms in a comedy skit from back in 2016.

In the hilarious skit (please see below) the two Zimbabwean actresses are dressed as police officers who are being interviewed by a ‘news reporter’ during the arrest of two ‘criminals’.

One of the ‘officers’ can be seen kicking and striking the ‘criminals’ in the background just as the other officer rebukes and denies claims of the police ever using violence.

Samantha aka ‘Gonyeti‘ is said to have been picked up on Tuesday by plain clothes officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at her home whilst Sharon aka ‘Maggie‘ was given instructions to attend a police station.

Both women were subsequently released and fined 20 US dollars as it is illegal for civilians to wear uniforms and badges of the police force and the army in Zimbabwe.

Africans launch Social media challenge mocking pastor Lukau’s “resurrection” of man caught on camera

A viral video showing a pastor depicting what looks like a man being ‘brought back to life’ has left many Africans unconvinced by the miracle as they went on to launch the #resurrectionchallenge.

Pastor Alph Lukau who is based in South Africa, is under serious fire from people all over Africa as video footage of him ‘resurrecting a dead man’ in a coffin, circulated on social media.

The pastor was initially told by the ‘dead’ man’s brother and landlord that the man had ‘passed away’ several days prior and had since been laying in a mortuary awaiting burial.

The footage then shows the Pastor praying over the ‘dead’ man – who then gasps for air and allegedly comes back to life after his ‘resurrection’

However, our African brothers and sisters are not convinced by the ‘miracle’ and are instead mocking both the man and the pastor for their ‘poor acting skills’ – by sharing videos of themselves carrying out their own ‘resurrections’.

Pastor Lukau of Alleluia International Ministries – which has branches in South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Zambia and Congo – and his representatives have had charges lodged against them by three funeral homes who allegedly accuse them of ‘tricking the funeral homes into using their assets to carry out the scheme to suit a particular outcome.’

Every African brother and sister is familiar with those traditional healer posters and leaflets that are handed out or stuck onto a pole in the city centre that claim to be able to improve your sexual abilities or help you win a court case.

Well last month, the Ministry of Health in Rwanda banned advertising of all medical businesses and products, and have now issued a warning to media houses who produce the advertisements of such services for traditional healers or ‘any other prohibited health or medical related programmes’ – in a bid to curb untested and potentially harmful products supplied by unregistered medical practitioners.

Spokesman of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, Malick Kayumba told The EastAfrican that: “Most of the traditional healers offer unrealistic medical advice and products; some say they can even cure cancer and hundreds of other diseases yet their products have never been tested in any laboratory. We have an obligation to protect the public against such misleading information.”

Mr Kayumba also stated that the government was more than welcome to work side-by-side with traditional healers by testing their products in laboratories who will issue registration certificates for them to open and run registered clinics.

Our Nigerian brodas and sisters are definitely letting American professional boxer Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller know – you touch one of us, you’ve touched ALL of us after he shoved British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua during yesterday’s press conference in New York to promote their upcoming fight.

It all kicked off at the press conference when Joshua leaned in for a handshake but instead stumbled two steps back after Miller callously shoved Joshua.

Although Joshua remained calm and collected – our Nigerian brodas and sisters did not and they have all gathered (including several celebrities ) in the comment section of Miller’s Instagram page to let him know he’s made a big mistake.

Joshua and Miller will be going toe-to-toe on 1 June at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York.
