19-year-old Uyinene was raped and murdered in August by former post office worker Luyanda Botha. The student was lured by Botha after he asked for her to return at a later time to collect a parcel where he killed her. A foundation has since been launched in her honour by her family.

31-year-old Zimbabwean born Madina Landsberg was found murdered in her home after the mother-of-two was brutally killed in June 2014. Her husband is currently serving a life sentence for the murder. A domestic violence charity was launched by her family in her honour.

Sixth year medical student Ivy was killed with an axe and knife by 28-year-old Naftali Kinuthia. Her childhood friend Kinuthia claims he became furious when Ivy ignored and ultimately switched off her phone as he repeatedly tried to contact her. Ivy was due to graduate from medical school this December.
